SPM 343 - Legal Issues in Sport Management, 3 credit hours Prerequisite(s): SPM 243 or consent of instructor. Legal Studies minors may substitute POL 207 for the prerequisite. This course is designed to focus on legal issues and interpretation of the law as it applies to sports and recreation. In particular, students will be exposed to the legal responsibilities that impact the decision making and risk management processes in sports and recreation organizations. Topics include contracts, torts, regulation of sports, and legal principles as applied to the administration and management of sports programs.
