MUL 138 - Rock Band Class, 2 credit hours

Rock Band Class is for student musicians (bassists, drummers, guitarists, horn players, keyboardists, rappers, sequencers, singers, string players, etc.) with an interest in learning to make popular music. Participants are not required to have prior rock or popular music experience. All students will have the opportunity to play instruments and sign, regardless of background knowledge and skill, and will be encouraged to try several instruments over the course of the semester. There is no need to be able to read music to participate in this class. If it becomes a necessary tool for remembering a part, we’ll write something down in notation for those who read it, but mostly we’ll rely on chord charts, lyric sheets, and our ears.
