EDU 330 - Assessment and Data Based Decision Making in Early Childhood Education, 2 credit hours Prerequisite(s): EDU 101 , EDU 102X , EDU 103D , EDU 114 , EDU 203 , EDU 204 , EDU 207 . Corequisite(s): Must be taken concurrently with EDU 322 , EDU 323 , EDU 333 . This course introduces students to assessment strategies appropriate for use in early childhood learning settings. Alternatives to formal standardized testing including naturalistic, authentic, and performance assessment will be investigated. The course addresses current issues relevant to assessment in early childhood education. Students will learn strategies of data-based decision making.
A field experience is required.
