HIS 313I - Renaissance & Reformation, 3 credit hours Prerequisite(s): One 100-level history course This course offers an extensive study of two periods which profoundly altered both the secular and religious foundations of medieval Europe. Political, social, cultural and artistic changes in the Renaissance are explored, as well as the challenges to the hegemony of the Catholic church in Europe by Luther, Calvin, and other Protestant reformers.
