EDU 211D - Exploring Education in a Diverse Society, 3 credit hours Prerequisite(s): Sophomore standing; ENG 131 ; EDU 203 or EDU 206 or EDU 274 or concurrent with EDU 274 The aim of the course is to sensitize teacher education candidates and other interested students to the differing needs of children/adolescents and to foster an exploration of their beliefs and experiences with regard to issues of diversity. Participants in the course will understand critical concepts of teaching and learning in a multi-cultural classroom. A field experience is required.
