MUC 347 - Opera Workshop 5: Advanced Acting Techniques, 1 credit hour


Prerequisite(s): MUC 248  or consent of instructor
Students will be introduced to the 17th and 18th Century operatic styles of presentation, acting techniques and historical sources unique to this period of opera. Techniques and process of historically accurate character building, audition techniques, and age appropriate aspects of the business of opera such as Young Artist/summer programs, job searching, professional contacts, and building strong collegial relationships will be explored. The course will culminate with a public opera scenes performance which will allow student to showcase their talents and put their workshop skills into practical performance application.
