Notes:


1 Three credits per semester for 8 semesters. Primary instrument is Piano.
2 Secondary instrument for Music Directors will be voice for at least one year. Secondary study beyond four semesters requires an additional fee.

3 One credit per semester for 6 semesters. May be taken as elective in additional semesters. A minimum of four semesters will be in a choral ensemble.
4 An Emphasis Area in music may be substituted for the music elective requirement. Students who have earned six credits in required ensemble may count up to two additional credits toward the music elective requirement.

5The Partial Junior Recital will be a minimum of 30 minutes classical repertoire, memorized.

6The Senior Recital will consist of playing for a minimum of one Senior Music Theatre Recital.

7The Studio Teacher and Conducing Apprentice Teacher serve as advocates for the students in determining the appropriate load of accompanying, playing and music directing responsibilities assigned each semester.

8One internship credit must be in a Ballet class the second may be of the student’s choice.

9 To register for MUC 345 Music Theatre Workshop 5: Golden Age of Music Theatre , students must have earned a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher in all MUC courses. Failure to do so will render students ineligible to continue in the Music Theatre program.

10 To register from MUC 446 Music Theatre Workshop 8: Music Theatre Showcase , student must have 18 credit hours or less remaining to graduate (assuming successful completion of current semester coursework). Any credits earned off campus to satisfy remaining academic requirements must transfer before registering for MUC 446 . Only students registered for MUC 446  will be permitted to participate in the BW New York Music Theatre Showcase.

11A proficiency exam is administered to determine entry level of foreign language study.
12 See Bachelor of Arts & Sciences Core  for more information about Core requirements. Note that specific University core requirements for Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, and a minor field of study do not apply to Bachelor of Music degree programs. Students may select to either take ten credits from any areas of the Humanities, Natural Sciences, and/or Social Sciences, or to complete a minor field of study outside of the Conservatory. Minor field of study must be other than music, theatre, or dance.
