HIS 236I - Women in Asian Civilizations, 3 credit hours Prerequisite(s): One 100-level history course or INT 200I or ASN 100I An introduction to the history of women’s roles in East Asia, India, and the Middle East. Special attention will be paid to religious and social factors and developments in the history of ideas that influence the position of women in these societies. No prior knowledge of Asian history is required.
