ECN 339 - Financial Intermediaries and Financial Institutions, 3 credit hours Prerequisite(s): ECN 200 or ECN 202 ECN 339 examines the role of the financial markets and financial intermediaries in the determination of interest rates and bond prices, and the money supply; the markets for stocks, bonds, foreign exchange, and other financial instruments; the U.S. commercial banking industry and other non-bank financial institutions; the analysis of bank performance; the U.S. Federal Reserve System and the role of the central bank in the financial markets and in the conduct of monetary policy.
