EDU 585 - Legal & Ethical Issues, 3 credit hours

This course is aligned with the National Educational Leadership Preparation (NELP) Building Standards (1-2), Ohio’s Standards for Principals (2018) (1-2) and the administrative knowledge, dispositions, and performances needed to promote the current and future success and well-being of each student and adult by applying the knowledge, skills, and commitments necessary to promote the current and future success and well-being of each student and adult by applying the knowledge, skills, and commitments necessary to understand and demonstrate the capacity to advocate for ethical decisions and cultivate and enact professional norms. Candidates will learn about and apply key federal and state legal policies in the context of case studies and scenarios. Special topic speakers and panels of practicing building/district leaders from the field are included as part of the periodic live virtual sessions.
