ECN 288X - Engineering Economics, 3 credit hours Prerequisite(s): MTH 142 A course for advanced students of Economics or Engineering. Topics and applications explored in the first half of this course will include: time value of money as applied to problems of investment, optimal search, product life, and optimal harvesting; benefit-cost problems as applied to infrastructure, bio-diversity, and community amenity projects; problems in project selection as applied to risk management involving R&D projects. In the second half of the course, teams of students will address and solve a complex problem for a client in the local community.
