FRN 311I - The Francophone World, 3 credit hours Prerequisite(s): FRN 202 or equivalent recommended. A study of the civilization of the Francophone world that extends beyond the boundaries of hexagonal France (Quebec, Caribbean, Sub-Saharan Africa, Maghreb, and Machrek). Materials to be studied include informational texts, literary and theoretical works, feature-length films, and documentaries. Emphasis will be on acquiring skills in literary and socio-cultural analysis critical to the field of Francophone studies.
