HIS 349I - Modern Britain, 3 credit hours Prerequisite(s): One 100 or 200-level history course An in-depth examination of British history since 1714, providing a more advanced and specialized study of topics such as the Hanoverian century, the rise of constitutionalism, the Victorian Age and the rise and fall of the British empire. Britain in the two world wars, the construction of the welfare state, Thatcherism, New Labour and the impact of the European Union are also explored.
