COL 163 - Prior Learning Assessment, 1 credit hours Baldwin Wallace University recognizes the legitimacy of University-level learning which has taken place outside the traditional classroom setting and grants credit for this kind of learning where it relates to the University curriculum. This course is designed to assist individuals enrolled in the Bachelor of Applied Arts in Business (BAAB) in exploring their past life and work experiences and in planning future educational goals. Students learn how to prepare a portfolio of credit requests based on the learning outcomes of life experience which are truly University level and relevant to BW courses. The student will also determine if course Challenge or CLEP Exams are appropriate options. The one credit awarded for this course applies regardless of the amount of credit, if any, that is subsequently approved by faculty and academic department assessment. For portfolio review, the student must have completed an English composition course at BW or another educational institution prior to course entry.
