EGR 200 - Statics & Mechanics of Materials, 4 credit hours Prerequisite(s): PHY 131 The study of force systems in two and three dimensions to explore the principles of equilibrium applied to various bodies and simple structures. Frictional forces, centroids, and moments of inertia are also discussed. Dynamics of particles, including kinematics and kinetics are presented. The course makes extensive use of vector method. These tools and techniques are applied to engineering problems and engineering applications.
