PSY 464 - Practicum in Psychology, 4 credit hours Prerequisite(s): PSY-279 & Senior Status by the beginning of the semester. Must be a Psychology major. This Capstone course is designed to integrate psychological theory and concepts with an internship experience. The overall goals are to help students become more grounded scientist-practitioners, to help students demonstrate professionalism and social responsibility, and to increase one’s readiness to enter the world of work. Each student will be at an internship site for 8 hours per week during the fall semester. Students must provide their own transportation to site(s). In addition to the time spent on site, the class will meet weekly to discuss each student’s internship experiences, as well as to integrate psychological content. This seminar is open to Senior Psychology Majors only.
