EDU 318 - K-12 Online Teaching, 2 credit hours


Prerequisite(s): EDU 101 , EDU 103DX , and EDU 214 .
This course will introduce pre-service educators to the basic principles of Online Teaching and Learning. It is geared to the various levels and licensure areas with focus on Course Design, Online Instruction, Student Engagement and Assessment. Candidates will explore the foundation of teaching in an online environment and the responsibilities of an online teacher. The coursework will include ways in which both the teacher and students use technology to examine current trends and gain an understanding of the appropriate integration of technology and instruction. Candidates will connect online teaching and learning to current emerging models of teaching as well as state and national standards.
