ART 121 - Digital Foundations, 2 credit hours This course evaluates the digital media tools artists use to navigate the current field of visual art and communication. Through a combination of lecture, lab, discussion, and hands on digital projects students will build a foundational knowledge of digital tools and assets necessary to develop and present original creative work in any creative discipline. Students will learn the history of creative technology and its influence on art and design. Students will understand the role it plays in current practice, legal use of digital artifacts, and practical applications to support, refine and present projects. Students use the Adobe CC Suite and other open-source software to complete projects and solve problems aimed at achieving these goals.
