BAN 440 - Decision Models and Analytics, 3 credit hours

Prerequisite(s): FNC 280  or MTH 279
This course offers comprehensive training in analyzing diverse business planning and decision problems using spreadsheet models. It provides a structured approach to quantitative decision-making, optimizing designs, allocating resources effectively, and ensuring economic efficiency. The framework presented is central to various business disciplines such as marketing, finance, operations research, accounting, and economics. Throughout the class, emphasis is placed on both modeling decision problems and implementing these models with real-world data. The material is approached from a managerial rather than technical perspective, that is, with a focus on how to apply decision technology, and how to interpret the results for guiding management action.
