ASW 306 - Therapeutic Modalities with Lab, 4 credit hours Prerequisite(s): BIO 203 . Sophomore Status and Allied Health, Sport & Wellness Majors and Minors or permission of instructor. This lecture/lab course is a study of the various therapeutic modalities used in the care and treatment of injuries, with a focus on musculoskeletal injuries in the physically active population. An overview of tissue response and pain transmission will provide the foundation to learning the mechanical and physiological effects of these modalities. The theoretical and practical application will be studied along with laboratory practice and use of the devices.
