MUC 415 - Contemporary Composition Techniques, 2 credit hours Prerequisite(s): MUC 217 ; Composition majors only or permission of instructor An exploration and composition modeling course of 20th and 21st century compositional trends and techniques, specifically twelve-tone, serialism, indeterminacy, process/algorithmic, proportional notation, minimalism, third-stream (jazz influence), rock influenced, and tonal/nonfunctional music writing.
