ART 261 - Typography, 2 credit hours

Prerequisite(s): ART 240
This course is an introduction to the history, anatomy and classifications of type. By using a combination of lab and lecture, this course evaluates typography’s role in the creative and visual direction of a message. Understanding the power of typography by way of its influential & iconic typefaces and layout guidelines leads to more effective visual communication. Students use Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator to complete projects and solve problems aimed at achieving these goals.
