BUS 654 - Environmental Science and Regulation for Sustainable Business, 3 credit hours This course provides students with basic scientific knowledge essential for understanding the problems and potential solutions associated with human-induced environmental challenges, including a review of the scientific method, ecosystem structure and function, and an examination of environmental issues related to human population dynamics, energy production and consumption, climate change, land use, transportation, food resources, water resources, and waste generation & management. The course also focuses on government regulatory environments (local to federal) that impact a firm’s sustainability behavior and performance. Students are challenged to think critically about the environment in which we live (local to global) and how it pertains to personal and professional decisions we make each day.
