EDU 518 - Online Teaching & Learning, 3 credit hours Prerequisite(s): EDU 514 This course investigates the many technological tools and methodologies of teaching and learning in the online environment to include both real-time (synchronous) and anytime, anywhere (asynchronous) interactions. Topics covered include desktop video conferencing, electronic field trips in the classroom, simulation education, communicative and collaborative devices, and virtual schools on the worldwide web. This course focuses on a variety of educational opportunities available in the online and blended learning platforms to include student-centered learning, collaboration, and access to multimedia global resources. Emphasis on quality standards for implementation of online courses will also be stressed.
