SOC 323 - Sociology of Law, 3 credit hours Prerequisite(s): SOC 100D (POL 207 highly recommended) This course examines major issues and debates in the sociology of law by examining the ways in which law affects social life and the social repercussions of legal decisions. Students will be exposed to a wide range of perspectives and will draw on examples from many legal settings. The goal of this course is to survey the different ways in which sociologists think about and study law and legal institutions, legal actors, and their relationship to social change.
