Pre-Allied Health/Pre-Physical Therapy, B.S.

The major in Pre-Allied Health/Pre-Physical Therapy is designed to provide a strong foundation in the fundamental principles of allied health science and exercise science. The major offers the preparation necessary for continued study toward a degree in physical therapy or a related allied health profession. Students who complete this program can pursue further education in Physical or Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistants, Athletic Training, Chiropractics, Podiatry and Nursing.

Students planning to pursue a graduate degree in physical therapy should consider PSY 100 , PSY 205 , PSY 302 , SOC 100D , and an additional statistics course. Students planning to pursue a graduate degree in athletic training should consider PSY 100  and ASW 211W  and internships in a variety of settings. Other elective courses might be: ASW 335 , ASW 423D , ASW 445 .  


Courses required for the major do not necessarily need to be taken in the sequence listed unless as specified by course prerequisites.
