MUC 245 - Music Theatre Workshop 3: Meisner Technique, 1 credit hour

Prerequisite(s): MUC 146 or consent of instructor
Music Theatre Workshop 3 uses Stanislavsky-based acting techniques and vocabulary, focusing primarily on the Meisner Technique. “Behaving truthfully under imaginary circumstances,” is how Meisner defined acting. Units include Meisner exercises, open scenes, Shakespearean scenes and sonnets, and scenes/songs from pre-Golden Age and Golden Age musicals. Audition technique and industry preparation will also be a component of the course.
